Biography of Harry W. Hixon, Jr.
Associate CIO for Operations
Mr. Harry Hixon is the Associate CIO for Operations in the Office of the CIO. He has over 20 years of leadership, program management, system engineering and technical management experience in operating and managing large, diversified organizations in Information Technology and telecommunications environments. He spent over 25 years in the U.S. Army as a Signal Officer and qualified Army aviator; and successfully commanded over four different types of communications’ organizations within the U.S. Army.
He also worked as a managing technology consultant for seven (7) years with a large systems’ integration contractor in assessing commercial and Government IT business environments and developing IT policies, business system strategies, business information system solutions, technical infrastructure architecture frameworks and migration/transition plans and associated project initiatives for enabling a consistent and common operating environment within the business enterprises.
Mr. Hixon returned to Federal Service in October 2001 by assuming a position within the Department of Treasury as the Director of Infrastructure Operations and Program Manager of the Treasury Communications System and the Departmental Telephone System. He assumed his current position on June 14, 2004. Mr. Hixon has a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics with a minor in Physics and a Master of Science in Telecommunications and Information Systems from the University of Colorado. |
