Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is the process for submitting an abstract?
A: Abstract submittal guidelines can be found under Call for Papers.

Q: What date will the call for papers close?
A: The call for papers will close at 11:59pm EST December 11, 2009.

Q: When will I know if my abstract is accepted?
A: An e-mail will be sent notifying you if your abstract has been accepted or rejected on
    January 4, 2010.

Q: Will onsite registration be available at the conference?
A: Signage will be displayed to direct you to the correct onsite registration location. 

Q: How technical will the sessions be?
A: Sessions will include both scientifically and programmatically based talks and discussions.  
    Sessions will also be ranked by knowledge level (i.e. introductory, intermediate, and advanced). 

Q: Will presentations be available after the conference?
A: Yes. Please visit the DOE's Information Management Conference homepage two weeks after the
     conference.

Q: Is the conference offering shuttle service to and from the airport?
A: No. Please visit the conference registration website (exit DOE) for travel assistance.

Q: Is there a conference dress code?
A: Business casual attire is recommended.

Q: I have a guest attending the conference with me.  Is there a cost for my guest to 
    attend the social events?

A: There will be a nominal fee for attendees as well as guests attending the social events. 

Q.  What should I do if I want to change the breakout session I selected?
A.  Once you register you will be given an access key.  Simply log back in to the registration
      site with the access key and update your sessions.  All selected sessions can be changed
      until 11:59 pm EST February 16, 2010.

Q.  What should I do if I am no longer able to attend the conference?
A.  If you are no longer attending the conference, please send an email to either
      mcaponey@technologyforums.com or kpritchett@technologyforums.com
      Please also make sure to cancel your hotel reservation.

Q: Who should I contact if I have questions while making my hotel reservations?
A: J.W Marriott Hill Country, San Antonio at 210-403-3434.  Please remember to inform the hotel
    that you are reserving a room under the "DOE IMC Attendee" block.

Q: Will participants receive a confirmation for their hotel reservation?
A: Yes. Hotel confirmation (exit DOE) will be provided once you have made your reservation. 

Q. What is the weather like in San Antonio?
A: In March during the daytime, the temperatures are normally in the low 70's F.
