Electronic Commerce Information
and other Important Links
The Department of Energy (DOE) uses a single, automated interface with FedBizOpps, via the Industry Interactive Procurement System (IIPS), which accommodates the collection and transmission of the required information for various synopses. The IIPS can be accessed via the DOE e-center, which is available at http://e-center.doe.gov/. The e-center is the Department’s web site for information on doing business with the Department of Energy, including information and guidance on the acquisition and financial assistance award process. In order to do business electronically with DOE, you will need to become familiar with the use of IIPS.
Mandatory use of FedBizOpps.gov as the single government point-of-entry (GPE) for Federal government procurement opportunities of $25,000, was effective on October 1, 2002. Government buyers are able to publicize their business opportunities by posting information to FedBizOpps via the Internet. By using the GPE www.fedbizopps.gov, commercial vendors seeking Federal markets for their products and services can search, monitor and retrieve opportunities solicited by the entire Federal contracting community.
All firms must be registered with Central Contractor Registration (CCR) in order to receive an award, including orders under Multiple Award and Federal Supply Schedule Contracts, from any Federal Agency. This requirement applies to new awards and modifications to existing awards from all Federal Agencies. Contractors not registered in the CCR/BPN will not be eligible to receive future awards or orders from the Department of Energy (DOE) or any other Federal Agency. Small business concerns can also find links to key information, including prime and subcontracting opportunities.
The web site address to register with the CCR is: http://www.ccr.gov/.
