Request for Commercial Timesharing Services
The Business Management Division, IM-12, is responsible for the acquisition and administration of DOE-wide commercial timesharing services. We encourage DOE Federal and M&O contractor organizations to take advantage of the DOE-wide commercial timesharing services when cost savings are significant.
The following information is provided to help you request commercial timesharing services. It answers the most frequently asked questions and highlights some key follow-up responsibilities.
To obtain access to a commercial timesharing service, the following attached forms must be completed:
A funding memo is also required in order to activate your timeshare account. OCIO will obligate the funds.
Please note the following when completing the above forms:
- All information requested must be provided except for "system module account number" on DOE 1450.5A. This space may be used instead to identify the timesharing service being requested.
- Instructions for completing DOE 1450.5B are on its last page. Pay particular attention to the instructions for Items 6,7,8.
- A DOE 1450.5A form must be completed for each user identified in Item 19 of DOE 1450.5B.
The system manager name requested in Item 1 of DOE Form 1450.5B will be the person responsible for your organization's use of this service. When we obtain the requested service, the system manager will be notified of established userids, training information, and documentation. IM-12 will also follow up with written notification identifying the system manager's responsibilities, some of which are as follows:
- As each monthly timesharing invoice is received by OCIO, a copy will be sent to the system manager for information purposes only.
- The system manager must submit a written request and a transfer of funds (if appropriate) if upon receipt of a monthly invoice, it is determined that additional funds are necessary to cover anticipated costs for the remainder of the fiscal year.
- The system manager must submit a written request as needed to add or delete a userid together with a signed DOE 1450.5A for each new user.
- The system manager must ensure that only the designated user use his/her assigned userid and for the identified purpose only.
